America Do You Want A Socialist Run Media?

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) predicted that the government will be involved in shaping the future for struggling U.S. media organizations.  “Eventually government is going to have to be responsible to help and resolve these issues,” Waxman told a conference hosted by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission on the future of journalism.  

 Waxman's 'indication that government has a role to play is both bold and soberly sensible,' said Free Press Policy Director Ben Scott on the sidelines of the FTC conference.   Free Press, a public interest group, said the search for solutions to the crisis in journalism should be premised on the idea that news-gathering is a public service, not as Waxman claims that it is "essential to U.S. democracy." John Leibowitz, the Chairman of the FTC says, "News is a public good.  We should be willing to take action if necessary to preserve the news that is vital to democracy."

When did it become the government’s job to provide us with the news?  The news providers who serve their constituency well will survive and do well.  Those who aren’t providing what the public wants will fade into the past.  Let free market enterprise work.

The socialist Democrats want control of the news media.  With that control we wouldn’t find out about corrupt organizations like ACORN.  We wouldn’t know what’s in the Obamacare socialized health care bill.  We wouldn’t know about the hoax in global warming.

Have the socialist Democrats heard of ‘Freedom of Press’.  America doesn’t need or want a government controlled socialist press.  The Democrats are attempting daily to make America just another third world socialist country.  Control of the press takes away your means of  knowing what the socialist Democrats are doing.
