Why Are Republican Politicians Running From Their Base?

Have Republican politicians in Washington DC forgotten all conservative values? Why are Republican politicians running from their base? Have Republican politicians become afraid to be conservatives?

Michael Steele as head of the RNC has a formidable task. The Republican Party has lost its focus and its direction. The liberal arm of the party is in essence trying to destroy the Republican Party. The liberals in the Republican Party are trying to out liberal the liberal Democrats.

People like Colin Powell say they are once again Republicans. Then in the next sentence says he supports what Barack Hussein Obama is trying to do to America. Powell even had the audacity to say Americans want higher taxes. That is liberal Democrat mantra not Republican. He has even gone on liberal shows and talked badly about conservative Republicans like Rush Limbaugh and others.

America doesn't want higher taxes and doesn't want to be controlled by the White House. California should have shown Colin Powell and the other liberal Republicans that America doesn't want higher taxes.

The liberal Republicans want conservative Republicans to give up their ideals and beliefs. It's not going to happen. Conservative Republicans will not give up their beliefs. America became strong and prosperous from hard work in reaching for the American dream, not from social welfare programs that have almost destroyed the country.

America too many politicians Republican and Democrat alike are not listening to what we're saying. They turned a deaf ear to the tea parties. They are ignoring the statement California made loud and clear with no more taxes. What they wont ignore is losing their jobs.

It's time America for us to let them know we have had enough. We have to be as vocal as the liberals that are trying to destroy this great country. America unite! let's speak with one strong voice and tell Washington, DC we don't want America destroyed with socialist programs.

    What ever happened to the National Council for a New America (NCNA)? Last I heard, it had a charter to “form the foundation of a concerted, policy-based forum to listen to, partner with, and empower the American people with ideas and solutions that speak directly to the needs of our great nation," but I have yet to hear another word about it. Has its “blueprint for a conversation with America” disappeared as well?

    Not that it matters much because all the NCNA would have generated with its lofty charter and blueprint is a big yawn. However, the unexplained disappearance of the NCNA is a sure sign that the GOP lacks unity and consistency. It also demonstrates that the GOP has become embarrassingly inept.

    For your information, there already is a blueprint for “solutions that speak directly to the needs of our great nation.” It is called “The Preamble to The Constitution” and it reads as follows: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

    Take a closer look at the Preamble and you will find that it has six specific goals to which all Americans can relate and believe. Those goals will never change while Americans are free. As such, they will serve well as the foundation for any future “blueprint for a conversation with America."

    There is no question that the GOP has lost the confidence of its base, so the charter and blueprint of any future body, such as the NCNA, must be believable and inspirational if the GOP has any hope of rejuvenating and expanding its base. What better source for that, and for teaching as well as listening, than The Constitution?
