US Flag Removal Results In WorldWide Outrage

In less than 36 hours, news spread around the world and outrage rang out!

When Debbie McLucas brought a 3 x 5 flag to work at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Tx. before the Memorial Day Holiday she did so with pride and patriotism. You see,  Debbie's husband and sons are former military and her daughter is currently serving in Iraq. Hanging the flag in her office was a way to honor our fallen heroes as well as showing her patriotism for the upcoming holiday.  Never when she hung that flag did she imagine it would become a worldwide controversy.

US Flag Controversy Draws Worldwide Outrage Part 3

Debbie, one of four supervisors at Kindred Hospital was told by her supervisor that one of the other supervisors, a coworker was offended by the flag and she removed it.  Debbie found the flag and pole laying on the ground.  Debbie was floored, not able to imagine why she would be stopped from having a flag to show her patriotism. Why would displaying the flag of the country you live in be offending? She was speechless.

Oh, wait, could it be that the person complaining is not from this country therefore she was offended? You know what we and people all over the nation had to say to that? TOO BAD THEN GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM!

According to reports the woman who made the complaint has been in this country for the past 14 years, having come here from Africa. You can bet that there were 14 years of accepting everything this country had to offer, taking in all benefits that living in the USA offers. Then having the nerve to complain or be offended because someone is showing patriotism to the country they love by displaying the American flag.

Hospital higher ups at first told her that as far as patriotism the flag flying outside the hospital would have to suffice.

"I find it very frightening because if I can't display my flag," McLucas asked, "what other freedoms will I lose before all is said and done?"

Debbie's thoughts were shared by many around the nation.  Outraged, people flooded the hospital with calls, emails and letters. Several dozen people gathered outside the entrance to the hospital to protest.

Quickly the hospital posted a statement on their website stating “The disagreement was over the size of the flag and not what it symbolized. We have invited the employee to put the flag back up."  We say too little too late.  The woman who took the flag down and laid it on the floor should have been reprimanded immediately, she did wrong. It should not have taken a nation showing outrage before they took action.

Amazing what the loss of $$ will do to a company. This was not a patriotic act on their part, no they were getting the worst national publicity ever so they came up with that statement and allowed Debbie McLucas to put her flag back up.

Debbie added that the hospital never gave her an alternative size that was acceptable; the supervisor just took the flag down.

America, the bottom line is this is just another instance of the politically correct thing to do. Tip toeing around so we don't offend anyone. That is total nonsense, this is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, we are proud of our flag and what it represents. We should not have to defend our right to let our flag fly free.

If someone is not proud of our flag then they don't belong in this country, let them get out and don't let then door hit them ...

Debbie McLucas's daughter responded from Iraq; Lillian McLucas Dressig said "My mom is a true hero in my book," she said. "If it's the right thing to do, it's the right thing to do. And, I think we need more people to stand up for what's right in America."

We could not agree more, people should not back down from expressing their patriotism for the country they love, not now, not ever! Tell us what you think America!

The person removing the flag and stating that it offended her is Olubunmi F. Ayeni-Agbelese an immigrant that has refused to learn or speak proper English. ****** GRAND PRAIRIE TEXAS 75052 look it up on google maps. It is far better than Nigeria where she is from. More disturbing is she doesn't even have the spine and guts to stand up for what she believes which is the back bone of the United States. She made the comments that the flag offended her and now hides like a coward. The hospital administrators are no better and gave a corporate coward response to the situation. The short of it all is that being a coward is easier than standing up for what you believe. The hospital continues to pay her in American currency that she gladly takes and now they are paying investor's money (they are publicly traded) for security in front of her house. Why will she not stand up now?
