Unions Bet on Liberals And Lose

Throughout time unions have always backed liberal Democrats. As with the poor, the liberals have promised the unions the world. Promises liberals know they can't keep.

The Liberal Democrats passed a $780 billion economic stimulus package. An economic stimulus package that is supposed to create and preserve jobs however, this stimulus package has no stimulus in it.

New York City is a prime example of unions asking for and getting more year after year. The liberals know eventually the well will run dry yet they keep signing these contracts with the unions.  Liberals have no ethics or morals.

Now the bastion of the liberal Democrats, New York City is in deep financial trouble. There are going to be sweeping layoffs of union workers. Union workers who were given contracts that liberal Democrats knew they couldn't afford. They gave the union these contracts to keep union support for liberal Democrats in elections.

Originally New York City said they would need to lay off 1300, with another 8000 that would be gone through attrition. Now New York City is saying without reforms another 7000 may have to go.  A total of 16,300 union jobs lost.
New York State and New York City are embarking on huge new tax increases. Even with the tax increases, New York City says unless major union benefit concessions are made the additional 7000 will have to go.

New York City can’t afford the health care and pension benefits they negotiated. The liberal Democrats knew this when they made these contracts with the unions. The liberals have no ethics or morals they were just buying votes.

In all honesty the leaders knew the city couldn't afford it too. The union leaders have no more ethics or morals than the liberal Democrats. Union leaders know the Democrats are protecting their power and huge incomes by negotiating these ridiculous contracts.

In New York City some contracts provide retirement after 20 years at 80% of their working salary. They also receive full health benefits. These benefits are for life. The negotiators on both sides knew when they made these contracts that New York City could not afford to pay people for 40 or 50 years not working. Yet they did just that and made these contracts.

This is the same thing the liberals are telling the immigrants, they're promising poor people benefits that aren't possible to sustain. Again the liberal Democrats are showing no ethics or morals. They are buying support and votes with benefits America cannot afford.

The liberal Democrats will get rid of 16,300 union jobs, to save money. There are no plans in New York City to cut welfare or any programs for those who don't work. The liberal’s base of those who don't work will not change. The liberals always support those who don't work with those who work. Now New York City is looking at adding 16,300 working union people to the unemployment and welfare rolls.
