Star Trek, the Borgs, Socialism
Resistance is Critical America Vs. Socialist Democrats
…contributed by Brenda
“Resistance is futile…” Thus began the warning – designed to ward off self-defense and weaken resolve – offered any time a culture or individual fought assimilation into the Borg collective.
Science fiction buffs around the world know Star Trek© and its many iterations over the years. With the introduction of The Next Generation®, fans met the Borg; a hive-minded collective of assimilated cultures and peoples who were rarely, if ever, truly recovered once they had been added to the drone population. All individual-ness, freedoms of speech/thought/choice, and personality were eradicated, leaving altered individuals who did only that which the hive brain instructed.
As I was considering a means to amplify the conservative’s understanding of liberalism, the Borg continued to be a perfect model for the liberal’s thinking, attitudes, and aptitudes to which we are now being exposed. While none of these concepts are new – liberals have been buzzing in this hive for many years – I believe it to be imperative that we understand them if we are to defeat their destructive methods in current and future American society. Notice I did not say – nor do I espouse – destroying the person but I firmly believe liberalism is godlessness and a ready vehicle by which destruction and incipient evils will prevail.
That said, follow along as we explore the liberal swarm through the fictional Borg’s mission.
Divisiveness
As a Borg, you were not allowed any differences between yourself and the drone in the next recharging chamber. Liberalism depends upon such differences; without the unique differences between people, they have no way to promote or exploit divisive people, thought, ideology, or contrarians.
‘Other’ Damage
The Borg only succeeded when they damaged and impaired other cultures. The liberals create and defend policies that succeed only through damaging other people. The inevitable end of such damage is the dissolution of unity, societal unrest, and a loss of ‘culture capital’ that cripples everyone who values free enterprise and creativity.
Irrelevant Communication
When a Borg drone spoke, the words had no meaning. When a liberal speaks, they rarely say anything with relevance to the real needs, desires, and direction of a free society. Their words are empty and typically spoken as rhetoric, not substantive creationism.
Errant Assumptiveness
When the Borg leader made colony ‘policy’, the assumption was self-aggrandizing and power/control based. When the liberal attempts to make public policy, the assumptions interwoven in the process are, at best, merely chimera – all smoke and mirrors with sharp and deadly edges – and inevitably collapse with exposed to serious scholarship.
Individuated Distortion
As explained at the beginning of this article, the Borg blurred all demarcations between individuals and groups, thereby making their reign of the galaxies psychologically terrifying to the strong, independent cultures they forcefully assimilated. Liberalism does the same; the differences between groups and individuals are distorted to such a degree that the resulting foundation is flawed before social policy can even begin to be built.
Something for Nothing
The Borg leader demanded individual intellect, creativity, and uniqueness – ultimately to enhance his/her own knowledge-base, power structure, and fear-based control of millions of people – at no cost to him/her. Liberals present and promote programs based on the absolute sociologic and scientific impossibility of getting something for nothing. Except with our Divine Creator, from nothing comes nothing; humans cannot realistically hope to create something from a vacuous black hole of nothingness.
Suffocating Swarming
When the Borg attacked other races and cultures, they swarmed the people, disarming them quickly while rapidly adapting to victims’ changing methods of defense. Liberalism can now be found in most – if not all – elements of American society and its continuing creep suffocates all in its path that do not come to the party with independent sources of oxygen.
Summary
It greatly benefits the conservative to understand the liberal way of thinking. While repulsive on many levels – emotional, pragmatic, intellectual, and spiritual – we must prepare. For far too long, most conservatives have ‘gone along to get along’ and we are reaping the price for such weakness. The price tag is too high for such continued soporific attitudes; one day we might well wake to a world we no longer recognize; a world of fear, micro-controls, and limits even Stalin and his ilk could not have imagined. Even Plato – often called the father of Utopias – could not dissever himself from the evils of complacency to speculate upon a civilization that transcended war and conflict.
The conservative v. liberal conflict is the true war on America soil; I pray we all take this challenge most seriously and refuse to listen to the lullaby of socialists with a hum in their throat and a scythe in their hand.
