A Simple Explanation

The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.

Little Sally led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30" she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."

"Very good" said the teacher.

Little Jenny was next: "I sold magazines" she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events."

"Very good, Jenny," said the teacher.

Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her Breath. Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467" he said.

"$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?"

Toothbrushes" said Little Johnny.

"Toothbrushes?" echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?"

"I found the busiest corner in town" said Little Johnny, "I set up a Chip and Dip stand, and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample.

They all said the same thing, 'Hey, this tastes like dog poop!' Then I would say, 'It IS dog poop! Wanna buy a toothbrush?'

I used the Barack Obama method of giving you something crappy, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it's free, and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth."

What Does Obama Mean

For several months in speeches and in his State of the Union speech Barack Obama talks about fairness and everyone paying their fair share. I know of NO one who doesn't believe everyone should pay their fair share. For Obama though fairness is a buzzword.

Life isn't fair. Eli Peyton and RG III are great quarterbacks. I'm not. Is that fair? Tim Duncan is a great basketball player. I'm not. Is that fair.

Obama talks about everyone playing by the same rules. Then he wants to change the rules. He doesn't want fairness as you and I think of. He wants to take from the workers and give to the non producers.

He can't run on his record so Obama needs a platform. He tries to paint the Republicans as do nothing. It's Harry Reid and the Democrats who won't do anything.

Obama a long time ago decided class warfare was his only chance to win reelection. He doesn't care how much it hurts the country. He doesn't care how many get hurt. He has his union goons to dish out punishment.

All of his life Obama has been around socialists, terrorists, and America haters. He understands nothing about capitalism. He does know about class warfare and redistribution of wealth. He does believe in the government making all decisions for you and for business.

He is doing all he can to push European socialism on America. Fairness to Obama is socialism and the ruling class.

The Federal Debt Is Crippling America

In the near future, the U.S. debt ceiling will be raised to over $16 trillion. The current federal debt is101% of GDP. This is not sustainable in the long run. Where is the outrage?

If the main stream media were doing their job, there would be daily articles scathing the Obama administration for adding over $5 trillion of debt in the last three years, asking why there are no new programs designed to reduce spending and debt, and wondering why after three years of stimuli efforts there remain 1.6 million fewer jobs than in January 2009.

Instead of asking for answers to these important questions, much of the main stream media has joined the Democrat propaganda machine vilifying venture capitalists, asking for tax increases on the rich and extolling the perils of the nation’s wealth distribution.

Where are the stories of how private equity capital assisted in the development and success of companies like Microsoft and Apple or about the huge role equity capital has played in U.S. technology world dominance?

Isn’t United States GDP nearly three times that of its nearest competitor partly because of the infusion of private equity capital?

These stories remain unwritten while we hear stories about employees who lost jobs because a failing company was shut down.

Although the MSM would have us believe that wealth distribution trends in the United States are unique and harmful, many studies have shown that since 1910 these same trends exist worldwide.

The Huffington Post and The New York Times continuously refer to a survey by Michael Norton and Dan Ariely showing wide variances in wealth distribution between Sweden and the United States, and that Americans overwhelmingly prefer the Swedish model. But they fail to mention that the authors conveniently chose to use income distribution for Sweden and wealth distribution for the U.S.

I’m not sure what these trends mean, but I’m sure that I would rather live in a country where everyone has the freedom and opportunity to acquire wealth.

America is where a minority child of modest means can attend Columbia University and Harvard University and become president.

Obama Calls it Being Fair

Tonight Barack Obama will use his election-year State of the Union address to argue that it is government’s role to promote a prosperous and equitable society, drawing a stark contrast between the parties in a time of deep economic uncertainty.

Obama has promised a populist "blueprint for an American economy that’s built to last," with the government assisting the private sector and individuals to ensure "an America where everybody gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share and everybody plays by the same set of rules."

Last week at fund-raisers in New York, he told supporters that his push for a government hand had a precedent dating to the construction of canals and interstate highways, and the creation of land-grant colleges and the G.I. Bill. He said that Republicans had moved so far to the right that 2012 will be a "hugely consequential election."

He is attempting to defuse the Republicans’ small-government message. Obama is confronting them, and framing the election-year debate in a way that aides say will challenge Republicans’ support for unfettered American markets and "you’re-on-your-own economics," as he put it in December in Osawatomie, Kan., in a speech that was a prelude for Tuesday’s address.

Obama will propose to double-down on clean-energy incentives; and to improve education and job training initiatives, especially for the millions of long-term unemployed, the officials familiar with the speech said.

He will revive politically popular proposals from the $447 billion job-creation package that he announced after Labor Day, but that Congressional Republicans blocked. He will again call for subsidies to struggling states to keep teachers and first-responders in their jobs, for money for roads and other infrastructure projects, and for extending for the remainder of the year both the temporary payroll tax cut for 160 million workers and federal payments to the long-term unemployed.

Obama wants you to buy his failed policies and do more of the same. Teachers and first-responders aren't losing their jobs. This is another feeble attempt to buy votes.

Obama will propose an even bigger federal government, higher taxes, and more handouts for the non producers. The speech will be about socialism. Obama will be campaigning for socialism, not freedom.

Is This The Beginning Of Something Good?

We were told Saturdays primary was do or die for Newt Gingrich. Gingrich was leading Romney by 14 points, 41 percent to 27 percent, with 88 percent of precincts reporting. A week before, Romney had a large lead in opinion polls here.

Gingrich cast his success as a sign that average Americans are angry at "elites" in New York and Washington, and in the news media particularly. He said he would use his debating skills to challenge President Obama, proposing a series of seven three-hour debates before the general election.

"We’re now three contests into a long primary season. This is a hard fight because there’s so much worth fighting for. We’ve still got a long way to go, and a lot of work to do," Romney told supporters. He then attacked Gingrich, without naming him, for sharing some of the same attributes as President Obama. "Our party can’t be led to victory by somebody who has also never run a business and never run a state," Romney said.

Far behind in third place was former Senator Rick Santorum (Pa.), who took Iowa from Romney by 34 votes. He said afterward that Gingrich "kicked butt."

"The great narrative of this is that three days ago there was an inevitability in this race. ... I took Iowa, Newt took South Carolina, and it’s game on again," Santorum said. "I can’t be more excited for the opportunity now to see this campaign go on, and we’re going to have it go on for a long time."

"I think Mitt Romney is a good man," said Harold Wade, 85, leaving a polling place in this picturesque seaside suburb outside Charleston. "But I think we’ve reached a point where we need someone who’s mean."

That was Gingrich, he said. "What we need is someone who’s got some brains," Wade said, explaining his vote for the former speaker. "And we need someone with some guts."

We can only hope this is something good for everyday working Americans. The elite and MSM keep telling us Romney is the only Republican that is electable. Working Americans are making a statement to the elite and MSM.

Court Blocks Implementation

Oklahoma voters approved by 70% a constitutional amendment to apply laws of the US in their decisions and banned them from drawing on Islamic Law or other foreign laws, an appeals court said the "ban discriminates against Islam'. A Muslim community leader has the right to challenge its constitutionality, a federal appeals court said.

The court in Denver upheld U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange's order blocking implementation of the amendment. The case now returns to federal court in Oklahoma City to determine the constitutionality of the proposed amendment.

Muneer Awad, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Oklahoma, sued to block the law from taking effect, arguing that the Save Our State Amendment violated his First Amendment rights.

"This is an important reminder that the Constitution is the last line of defense against a rising tide of anti-Muslim bigotry in our society, and we are pleased that the appeals court recognized that fact," Awad said. "We are also hopeful that this decision serves as a reminder to politicians wishing to score political points through fear-mongering and bigotry."The amendment read, in part: "The courts shall not look to the legal precepts of other nations or cultures. Specifically, the courts shall not consider international law or Sharia law."

State Senator Anthony Sykes, who led the Senate effort to get the measure on the ballot, said Tuesday he would continue to fight to lift the injunction. "The federal appeals court in Denver attempted to silence the voice of 70 percent of Oklahoma voters," Sykes said in a statement. "At some point we have to decide whether this is a country of by and for the judges, or of by and for the people. How far will the people let them go? This ruling is right along with legalizing abortion and forced busing of school children."

Backers argued that the amendment intended to ban all religious laws, that Islamic law was merely named as an example and that it wasn't meant as a specific attack on Muslims. The court disagreed.

Awad argued that the ban on Islamic law would likely affect every aspect of his life as well as the execution of his will after his death. The appeals court pointed out that Awad made a "strong showing" of potential harm.

"When the law that voters wish to enact is likely unconstitutional, their interests do not outweigh Mr. Awad's in having his constitutional rights protected," the court said.

The case now returns to federal court in Oklahoma City to determine the constitutionality of the proposed amendment.

"Article III, Section 2 of the Constitution states that, "The judicial power shall extend to all cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States…" "shall not look to the legal precepts of other nations or cultures. Specifically, the courts shall not consider international law or Sharia Law."

The courts again are overstepping their boundaries. America has a Constitution and laws. Why would a court say it is unconstitutional for American courts to use only American laws?

May Be $6.5 Billion More Lost

The controversial government loan to now-bankrupt Solyndra wasn't an isolated incident. CBS This Morning reporter Sharyl Attkisson explained, "We identified 11 green energy companies beside Solyndra that, together, got billions of tax dollars then declared bankruptcy or are suffering other serious financial issues."

A CBS graphic blared, "The New Solyndra's." Co-host Charlie Rose touted this scoop as one "you'll only see on" CBS." It will be interesting to see if ABC and NBC follow up on the investigation's findings that there is "a pattern of the government pouring your tax dollars into clean energy." Attkisson exposed a $43 million loan to a "dismal" green energy company and another linked to Harry Reid.

Most surprising, perhaps, is how bad off the government knew some of the investments were before committing all that money. Take Beacon Power, a green energy storage company. We were surprised to learn what the Energy Department knew before committing $43 million of your money. Documents obtained by CBS News show Standard & Poor's had confidentially given the project a dismal outlook of triple C-plus. Would you put your personal money into an investment that's triple C-plus?

Attkisson implicated Reid in the developing story: "Nevada Geo-Thermal, a home state project personally endorsed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, warns of potential defaults in new S.E.C. filings reviewed by CBS News." She added, "It was already having trouble paying the bills when it received $98.5 million in Energy Department loan guarantees."

Barack Obama has chosen green energy because it fits in line with his vision of one day bankrupting the coal industry, as he warned us about in 2008. Instead, he will use the government to invest in industries that he has deemed worthy, defying any market trends or consumer demands (or lack thereof).

Reid Tea Party "extremism"

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Sunday prepared for Congress' return to Washington this week with a warning to Republicans to leave Tea Party "extremism" behind and "learn what legislation is all about." He said it's time to rebuild America by working together to create jobs.

"I would hope that they understand that everything doesn't have to be a fight. Legislation is an art of working together, building consensus, compromise. And I hope that the Tea Party doesn't have the influence in this next year that they had in the previous year," Reid said.

Reid claims that Republicans are engaged in "obstructionism on steroids," the Nevada Democrat said Barack Obama for two and a half years "bent over backwards" to reach out to Republicans, only to find a fist rather than a hand to shake. Reid said he'd prefer that Democrats not have to go it alone in the Senate this year, but since last September they have succeeded on moving several items without minority cooperation.

"I hope that the Republicans will understand, as they learned in the last week in the last year, that they can't be led over the cliff by this extremism," Reid said.

The Senate led by Harry Reid hasn't passed a budget in over 1000 days. The Senate led by Reid has refused to take up over 125 bills passed in the House.

When has Obama reached out to the Republicans? When he was having problems with Obamacare he held a joint conference to remind the Republicans that he won and elections have consequences. I believe the Republicans cleaned house in the 2010 elections. Yes elections do have consequences.

Obama, Reid, and the Democrats are the extremists not the Tea Party. Obama's campaign will be running against a do nothing Congress. Obama and Reid don't want any legislation passed.

On Pace To Borrow $6.2T In One Term

Barack Obama sent Congress a .letter saying the government is within $100billion of running out of money. Now that Obama has sent the letter, Congress has 15 days to pass a resolution of disapproval or the debt ceiling will rise automatically by $1.2 trillion, according to the terms of the August debt ceiling compromise.

Obama has been increasing the national debt during his presidency by an average of $4.24 billion per day putting him on a pace to increase the national debt by $6.2 trillion by the end of his term on Jan. 20, 2013, according to the debt figures published by the U.S. Treasury.

That $6.2 trillion is more debt than was accumulated by all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Bill Clinton combined. In fact, the U.S. national debt did not eclipse the $6.195 trillion level—the amount Obama is on pace to increase it in one term—until August 19, 2002, during President George W. Bush’s second year of office.

The national debt was $10.6 trillion on Jan. 20, 2009, the day Obama was inaugurated. As of the close of business on Jan. 11, 2012, it was $15.2 trillion. In Obama’s first 1,087 days in office, the debt increased $4.6 trillion or an increase of $4.24 billion per day.

Obama is deliberately destroying America's economy. The fundamental change he promised in 2008 is a change to socialism. If he isn't defeated in 2012 America may never recover from the damage he is doing.

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) insinuated that the Tea Party, which she said regards political opponents as "the enemy," has enhanced divisiveness in Congress. In the New Hampshire speech she further insinuated that the Tea Party had something to do with Representative Gabby Gifford's shooting in Tucson, AZ.

"We need to make sure that we tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy from a year ago, where my very good friend, Gabby Gifford's -- who is doing really well, by the way, -- [was shot]," Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chair said during a "Politics and Eggs" forum this. "The discourse in America, the discourse in Congress in particular . . . has really changed, I'll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement."

Wasserman Schultz doubled down on her attack. "You had town hall meetings that [the Tea Party] tried to take over, and you saw some their conduct at those town hall meetings," Wasserman Schultz said today. "When they come and disagree with you, you're not just wrong, you're the enemy." She added that "when they disagree with you on an issue, you're not just wrong, you're a liar."

She failed to mention the amount of violence at Occupy demonstrations around the country. Or that you can’t find one verified report of violence from a participant in a Tea Party rally. Occupiers left their occupied sites full of trash .. and sometimes dead bodies. Tea Partiers always cleaned up. And I’m still waiting to see the a picture of a Tea Partier taking a crap on a police car. Edginess? Lack of Civility? That’s the occupiers, not the Tea Partiers.
